THE REALM OF THE INCAS holds many treasures, from majestic hilltop fortresses to the living culture of the Incas' descendants. Explore the heritage of the Inca capital, Cusco, stroll the narrow streets of traditional Ollantaytambo, then trace the footsteps of explorers as you enter the incomparably beautiful city of stone,  Machu Picchu.

Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu                     The Lost City hike, explore, and absorb the splendor of Machu Picchu, a stunning city of stone perched on the edge of a sheer precipice above the Urubamba River. This bewitching sanctuary is the most perfect surviving example of Inca architecture, never looted or damaged by the conquistadors. American historian Hiram Bingham, who had a fascination with Peruvian archaeology, found the site in 1911 while searching for the ruins of Vilcabamba, known to be the last place where Manco Inca took refuge.
